Design example - New Year's
Perhaps the most popular and appropriate style of nail art is kamifubiki on New Year's Eve. In the autumn, it’s so nice to admire your own bright and cheerful nails in warm colors!
In the cold season, you should choose raspberry, purple and warm sunny tones for the base.
Confetti is associated with New Year's and Christmas fairy tales, so for the New Year it will definitely be an excellent addition to any costume and carnival look.
A pastel nail design - milky, coffee color - with bright contrasting confetti on one nail (for example, on the middle finger) looks interesting.
You can choose shiny details with a mirror effect that perfectly reflect light - this will add additional shine to your nails.
Form
Sequins also come in a variety of shapes, allowing you to turn any design into reality.
On sale you can find:
- geometric figures: circles, ovals, triangles, rhombuses, hexagons. Such elements are appropriate when implementing any type of design. They are combined with each other and can be combined into other figures;
- stars . They are relevant for “space” manicure or futuristic style;
- flowers . These can be roses, daisies, peonies, which can be complemented with any design;
- snowflakes _ They are popular during the winter holidays. Allows you to create the mood of real winter;
- hearts _ More often used for themed manicures for Valentine's Day;
- multifaceted sequins . Such elements look like a frozen drop, each face of which shimmers with its own color.
Volume manicure
For those who want to add even more originality, you can try drip or volume manicure. The bottom line is this: first, hygienic cleaning is carried out, as usual, the nails are given the desired shape, after which a varnish of the selected color is applied as a base. After this, the sequins are glued in the chosen way (pattern, chaotic, gradient or other). And then on each sequin separately you need to drip a thick layer of top in this way. Make a drop. By the way, such drops can be applied simply to the varnish; you get the effect of wet nails.
Display methods
Kamifubuki for nail design can be laid out in any order, the choice depends on the client’s wishes.
If colored gel polish is chosen for the background, then it is worth considering the following nuances:
- blue base . This gel polish will be combined with sequins with a gold or silver tint, plain red or white confetti, as well as contrasting colors chosen taking into account the color wheel;
- red base . This gel polish will be combined with sequins in gold, silver, blue, green, and black. It is worth remembering that a red background visually makes objects smaller, so you should choose larger kamifubuki;
- cat's eye . Silver and gold sparkles look elegant on this gel polish;
- transparent background, nude or French manicure . Kamifubuki of absolutely any color and shape can complement a manicure in bed colors. In this case, the master can highlight 1 or 2 nails with sparkles and the others with color, or cover all nails with beige gel polish and decorate 1-2 fingers with confetti.
There are also several ways to place a design:
- closer to the free edge or base of the nail;
- in the middle of the nail plate in a scattered pattern or pattern;
- stripe - smooth, pigtail, from smaller to larger size and vice versa;
- diagonally;

How to glue sequins
The basis of any manicure is to clean, remove the cuticle, and give the nails the desired shape. At the same time, if you do a manicure yourself, make sure that all nails are not only the same shape, but also the same length. Nails of different sizes create a sloppy impression and spoil the overall impression of even the most interesting and fashionable nail design.
After you get your nails in order, it's time to do the manicure itself, that is, it's time to glue on the sequins! This is quite simple to do: first you need to cover your nails with a base, that is, with varnish of the chosen color. Then apply the base in a thick layer and, without waiting for it to dry, apply glitter with a brush or tweezers. You can arrange them as you like: randomly, in a certain sequence in the form of a pattern, different sizes, gradient, and so on. Then let the base layer with sequins dry well, now cover everything with top coat and dry.
This sequin manicure lasts longer, especially if you use gel polish. Under normal conditions, confetti may begin to fall after two to three days. Sequins tend to stick the worst on the folds of the nail, so keep this in mind when applying. Especially if you are just learning how to do such a manicure.
Manicure with kamifubuki: how to attach it to polish, gel polish, gel?
Sequins can be used to design any manicure. If your nails are painted with regular polish, the glitter will stay on until the base is damaged.
Instructions on how to attach kamifubuki:
- First you need to remove the old gel polish coating from your nails or remove regular polish with a special liquid. Get a manicure.
- Prepare the nail for coating with gel polish or strengthening with gel by degreasing and applying a base. To coat with regular varnish, simply degrease the plate.
- The colored background is applied in 2 layers, this applies to both regular polish and gel polish. Both layers must be dried in a lamp.
Further actions depend on the coverage:
- If the nail is painted with regular varnish, then at this stage the design is done with sequins and subsequent painting with colorless varnish in 2 layers. You need to act quickly, as the varnish will dry and the design will not stick;
- If gel polish is applied, then the nail must be covered with a thin layer of base and, without drying, begin laying out kamifubuki. When the design is completed, the base is dried in a lamp. Next, the manicure is completed by covering the nail with a top coat;
- if the nail plate has been strengthened with a base transparent gel, then a second thin layer of gel is applied, it is not dried. The design is laid out on it and polymerized in a lamp. Then the top is applied.
Nuances of fastening design:
- Instead of reapplying the base after a colored background, you can cover your nails with a top coat with a sticky layer and put glitter on it. In this case, a top with only a sticky layer is suitable; it is on this that the kamifubuki will be attached;
- Don't skimp and put glitter on gel polish. An undried color coating may flow onto them, ruining the look, and the sticky layer will not be enough to fix it, and the design will move when the top is applied;
- if a liquid base is used, then the design must be thought out in advance. After covering the nail with a second layer of colored gel polish, the base is applied pointwise to the places where the kamifubuki will be attached. If you cover the entire nail, the glitter will spread when applied because the base will flow;
- It is better not to attach large sequins on bends - they may bend and not take the shape of the nail.
How to make diamond designs on nails
Creating a real geometric pattern yourself is not that difficult. You can complete the design in three ways:
- Using a thin brush and varnish that contrasts or shades the main background.
The complexity of this technique lies in the time required for work and the skill of the master. Important! No matter how skillful the craftsman is, it is impossible to manually make all the lines equally even. - A lighter and more popular option is tape. Special strips for manicure allow you to create clear, even lines. The size of geometric shapes can be adjusted if desired. This tool is indispensable when creating a quilted manicure.
- The simplest method of applying a pattern is to use stencils. However, you should pay attention that gel polish often flows under the carbon copy, while ordinary varnishes create the perfect design.
Spectacular nail design with kamifubuki
Kamifubuki for nail design can be used in several ways:
- chaotic arrangement of confetti of different sizes;
- using sequins you can create a pattern, for example, from rhombuses - a cube or a flower;
- kamifubuki can be placed under stained glass gel polish or on top of a dense color.
Focus on one nail
Sequins are often used to decorate 1 nail on the hand. This can be any finger the client desires, for example, the ring or middle finger. You can lay out the design either on colored gel polish or on a nude background covering 1 nail.
It is worth adhering to the rule: the brighter the rest of the nails, the more contrasting the kamifubuki should be.
Sequins on several nails
Manicure with confetti on several nails is performed in the same way as in the previous case.
The order in which the sparkles are laid out may change:
- if kamifubuki are placed on adjacent nails, they can form a common design, for example, part of a line of glitter on one nail, and part on the second;
- the same design can be made or in a mirror image on adjacent nails;
- Sequins can also decorate 2-3 nails, on which a half-cover of color is made - kamifubuki overlap the joint line.
Confetti on a light background
Sequins of different colors and sizes look original on light shades of gel polish. With this background you can cover all the nails, decorating 1-3 fingers with sequins, or decorate 2-3 nails with the design, covering the rest with a bright color. Sequins on a light background can be placed randomly or be designed into a pattern.
Kamifubuki "Golden Rain"
The name “Golden Rain” was given to round sequins with a golden tint. These sparkles are suitable for decorating gel polish of any color, tone, or transparency.
With their help, a design similar to rain is created: glitter is laid out on the free edge of the nail as close to each other as possible. The closer to the base of the plate, the less sequins are attached. At the very beginning of the nail, the design is not laid out.
Combination with gradient
Kamifubuki for nail design with a gradient can be used in 2 variations:
- Glitter stretch . In this case, the nail must be covered with a colorless or camouflage base. Starting from the base of the plate or the free edge, kamifubuki are attached as close to each other as possible. Moving in the opposite direction, their number should be reduced to 1-3 pieces.
- Stretching the main coating , including matte, followed by decoration with sequins. The stretch can be vertical or horizontal.
For design, it is better to use plain kamifubuki, matching the color gel polish.
Nude
A natural and delicate manicure in a nude design can also be decorated with kamifubuki.
There are 2 options for this:
- soft sparkles that will shimmer in the light, but will not immediately catch your eye;
- bright accents made with a maximum of 10 sequins of the same color, for example, red hearts or black stars.
Combination with rubbing
One popular combination of techniques is the combination of kamifubuki and rubbing. This design is done in the same way as attaching sequins to one nail, for example, 4 nails are covered with pearl rub, and the remaining nail is covered with glitter over the entire surface. As a rule, the ring finger is chosen for this.
French
You can decorate all your nails with sequins at once, for example, by performing a French manicure using small circles. In another variation, a classic French design is performed on all nails, and a kamifubuki design is laid out on the nameless one.
Gossamer and kamifubuki
The recently popular “spider web” technique is also combined with kamifubuki. To do this, you need to cover your nails with soft pink, nude or transparent gel polish, and make a spider web in a contrasting color.
For the design, sparkles are selected that are as close in shade to the background as possible; their purpose is to complement the design without attracting the main attention.
Pair with rainbow foil
This design looks impressive on long nails. To do this, the nail plate must be covered with a matte gel polish close to natural. On 1-2 nails, a design is made with colored foil over the entire surface. And on the 3rd nail kamifubuki are laid out. To do this, you can choose glitter of different sizes, shapes and colors.
Combination with predatory print
The predatory design, complemented by kamifubuki, looks bright and impressive. As a rule, 1 nail is decorated with such sparkles, 2-3 are covered with plain gel polish, and a pattern is made on the remaining nails. The gradient made with small sequins looks beautiful.
Sequins on matte manicure
The matte top gives your nails a velvety effect, and kamifubuki will help decorate them.
Design options could be:
- matte with sequins and gradient;
- neon matte with glitter;
- contrast of nails - matte nude and matte dark color, one of them is decorated with kamifubuki.
For this design, it is better to choose sparkles with a hologram effect or plain ones. There are no restrictions on form.
Combination with nail art
Kamifubuki can be used for combined nail design, which combines color coating and nail art. To do this, a painting is done on one nail, which can be plain or include bright elements. And the rest of the nails are covered with gel polish of the desired color. On 1-2 of them, kamifubuki is laid out.
If the painting contrasts with a solid color, then the glitter is selected in the same shade as the gel polish. They can be in any order. Sequins can also complement the design, for example, a black fish is applied to a nude background, and silver sparkles serve as its scales.
Combination with inscriptions
The manicure looks creative, complemented by kamifubuki and inscriptions.
Sequins can be laid out in 2 options:
- as a background, for example, a black inscription will be placed on silver sparkles;
- serve as an additional decoration, for example, by limiting the inscription in a circle or emphasizing it.
Combination with floral decor
Using kamifubuki, you can decorate your nails by laying them out in the shape of a flower on a nude background. For this purpose, round, oval, diamond-shaped or triangular sequins will be used. It is better to choose a pastel shade, otherwise the drawing will get lost.
Also, sparkles will originally complement the pattern made in color:
- if leaves or a flower are depicted on the nail, kamifubuki can be placed around the design, complement the design with small circles, focusing attention on a specific element;
- glitter can be placed vertically in the middle of the nail in descending order of size, and flowers can be drawn on the left and right. You can also make a diagonal layout with sparkles of the same size.
Starfall
The starburst effect can be created using silver and gold sparkles in the shape of stars.
There are 2 manicure options:
- Nude tones are chosen for the background, non-contrasting sequins are used that gently shimmer in the light;
- For the background, a dark color of gel polish is selected, for example, black, blue-black and decorated with sparkles.
Diagonal layout
An interesting design can be achieved by laying kamifubuki diagonally. For this purpose, sequins of any size, shape and color are used. As a rule, the little finger and ring finger or the middle and ring finger are chosen for this design.
You can also cover 3 nails on your hand with a matte top, and make a diagonal layout on 2 fingers.
It is worth considering that kamifubuki are best placed on a nude, transparent or pastel background. In this case, the remaining nails can be painted in any color. If you place glitter on a bright background, the design will be lost from view.
Prints
Using kamifubuki you can achieve the effect of prints. To do this, glitter is applied to a pastel-colored polish in a chaotic manner, the nail is sprinkled with acrylic powder, and the sequins are subsequently removed.
Places where recesses have formed must be decorated with colored gel polish or shimmer. The ring and middle fingers can be decorated with this design, and kamifubuki should be placed on the little finger.
Strip
You can lay out a strip of sequins on your nails in a horizontal, vertical or arbitrary direction.
The following execution options are available:
- a strip on a plain, transparent, nude gel polish. To do this, select sparkles that will contrast with the background. Golden kamifubuki look good on a colored surface;
- sequins can be laid out in the form of colored lines in any direction on a pastel background;
- On a nail with a transparent base, a line is drawn with colored varnish, and the design is laid out on top of it.
The strip can be decorated not only with round or square sparkles. A line made of rhombuses or triangles looks original. You can also form a straight line of small kamifubuki. The design will look like a small scattering on the nail.
Lunar manicure
Moon manicure is a type of French manicure that emphasizes the “smile” at the base of the nail.
You can design a hole in several ways:
- Gel polish is applied to the entire nail plate. The design is laid out with sequins along the contour of the hole. It can be in the shape of a semicircle or a geometric figure with corners.
- Gel polish covers half or 2/3 of the nail closer to the free edge. Kamifubuki decorate the base of the nail plate.
- 1-4 nails are done with the hole highlighted, and the remaining ones are decorated in a nude or transparent color with sparkles.
One of the ways of original nail design is kamifubuki. Sequins of different sizes, shapes and colors can be placed on the nail in the form of a pattern or randomly. In any case, the manicure will look unusual and attractive.

Fashionable white nails
White has been a favorite color for many years. After all, what could be better than a drawing base that includes various small colored details, but a blank white sheet on which you can draw whatever you want. Also, this color always looks fresh on nails.
A manicure with white sequins leaves room for imagination - after all, glossy and matte confetti, chaotic designs with sequins or appliqués look great against such a background. The combination of gold and black kamifubuki on a white background looks original. An elegant manicure can be achieved by painting all your nails with white polish, and on one of them apply only sequins on a transparent base.
