Blue manicure with rubbing

For lovers of irresistible shine, the rub-in manicure technique will suit you. The effect is much brighter than when using metallic varnish or glitter. To perform this manicure you will need a glitter pigment.

To create a rub-in manicure, cover your nails with blue polish. At the same time, they must be perfectly smooth, without cracks or chips. The pigment is applied in a thick layer, affecting areas near the cuticle and side ridges.

Lunar manicure and “broken glass” 2022

Do you love the moon manicure technique? Well, you can easily combine both techniques - lunar and “broken glass”. Try, for example, to decorate a hole near the cuticle using shards of foil or, the second option, no less stylish, is not to paint over the hole of the moon manicure, but to cover the rest of the nail plate with broken glass. Believe me, such an unusual design will attract not only your attention, but also the attention of others. And don’t forget, due to the fact that the hole is not painted over, the regrowth of the nail will be almost invisible.

Plain manicure and “broken glass” 2020

If you like simplicity, ask your nail artist to cover all your nails with a single-color varnish and apply broken glass only to a few fingers. For some, such a manicure may seem too rustic, but we believe that elegance lies in this simplicity.

Lunar and French blue manicure

Moon manicure is the best choice for a discreet and strict design. In the blue version it will look even more elegant and delicate. Use any color as a shade for the root hole. The choice depends on the situation for which the manicure was performed. For business nail art, combine blue with white, black, brown and other rich shades. If you want to make a fun, bright summer design, then choose contrasting rich shades.

For a French manicure, the same recommendations apply as for a lunar manicure, with the only difference being that instead of drawing the root hole, the edge of the nail is painted with a different color.

The combination of lunar and French manicure is especially delightful, resulting in a design with a unique frame.

How to apply nail rub correctly

To ensure that the design result when creating mirror nails does not disappoint, you need to try, putting in as much effort as possible. There is no need to rush. You need to choose the right method to do it.

In order to make a brilliant manicure, you need: top and base coat, gel polish, and the rub itself. To make a chrome coating on your nails, you need to follow the following instructions:

  1. Doing hygienic manicure. Remove everything unnecessary. Shape the nails (optional). Grind the surface of the nail to distribute the gel polish and rubbing evenly. If the surface of the nail is not smooth, the “mirror” effect will accentuate the unevenness.
  2. Apply a thin layer of base to the nail plate. Dry. Using a UV lamp for 2 minutes, LED lamp for 0.5 minutes.
  3. Gel polish of the selected color is applied to the nails. It is advisable to consider in advance the options for different colors of gel polishes and rubbing colors so that the effect is best. Nails are dried in a lamp.
  4. Top coat is applied, without a sticky layer. Dry in the lamp for no more than 2 minutes.
  5. Take the applicator that comes with the powder. Take a little bit of mirror powder and apply evenly over the entire nail plate. Making circular movements, rub from the cuticle to the edge of the nail. If you rub the powder in with your fingers, application will be more precise and accurate.
  6. Slowly work on difficult areas, rubbing in the powder before the mirror effect sets in.
  7. Remaining dust is removed with a brush.
  8. Apply 2 top coats to the nail plates. In order for the effect to be too pronounced, repeat the process of rubbing in chrome powder, then apply another layer of topcoat. Typically, mirror rubbing is applied only once. This is quite enough.

How to make “broken glass” nail art at home

This spectacular and unique design can be done at home, without any special equipment or super fancy devices. All you need is a great desire to create a unique manicure and a little patience.

  1. So, first we prepare our nails to create a masterpiece.
  2. Carefully remove any remaining old polish and degrease the nail plate with nail polish remover.
  3. Then we prepare materials for the design: either a special film for nail art, or just foil.
  4. Cut into small pieces (at this stage there are no rules - act as your imagination dictates). For example, triangles, squares or abstract figures.
  5. Until the base layer is completely dry, use tweezers to arrange the pieces of foil in the desired order.
  6. The final stage is coating the nails with finishing varnish.

Long nails in light colors.

Important! Before using the base, be sure to apply a special base to the nail. Apply the base varnish in at least two layers.

Note! The quality of a manicure largely depends on how well each layer is dried. It is recommended to dry the intermediate layers of varnish for at least 15 minutes, and the final coat for much longer. Therefore, before you start nail art at home, think about how to plan your time so that you don’t have to do any household chores with a barely applied layer of varnish.

The key to the beauty and creativity of the “broken glass” manicure lies in the use of the right materials. In particular, this is a film for nail art. The iridescent one is especially in demand, as it is suitable for any varnish and shimmers very effectively when exposed to sunlight.
