A few words about gel polish
Gel polish is a mixture of gel and varnish. Gel gives strength to nails, varnish gives color. This goes back to the times when extended nails were in fashion. Then, in order to get long nails in 1 day, you could resort to the following options: stick and extend. In the first case, the plastic nails stuck to the glue, but could fall off at any time. Happened quite often and at the most inopportune moments.
In the second, the extension procedure was similar, only the plastic nail was glued in half and covered with gel on top. As a result, false nails lasted up to 2 weeks. But after removal, the original nails looked like after the war, because the extension procedure required cutting off the plate with an abrasive file so that the glue would better adhere to the plastic nails.
It was then that it was noticed that if you start covering your nails with gel and sometimes correcting them, you can grow your own manicure up to 1 cm long in 2 months.
The first gels were dull, clear or whitish-cloudy. When they thought of putting colored varnish in them, that’s when gel polish was born.
Over time, the colored gel polish became boring and I wanted to draw on it. But he is capricious, not every print will stay on him for a long time.
Before you do nail art, you need to buy an ultraviolet lamp, because without it the gel polish does not want to dry. It wouldn’t hurt to have a variety of brushes to make it easier to work with this particular material:
- First, you need to prepare your nails for a manicure - more on that below - apply a basic gel polish. It's easy to model your nails with it;
- Dry under a lamp;
- On top of the base coat you need to apply 2 layers of colored gel polish. Dry each layer under a lamp. The final layer is the top coat.
Now the nails are ready for drawing.
