Bio gel nail polish - what is it and how to use it?

Often, creating a flawless manicure leads to undesirable consequences - thinning of the nail, brittleness, delamination. Biogel will help you avoid this .

The product helps damaged nails recover and acquire a healthy appearance. Biogel is a solution for pregnant women and people suffering from allergies.

Before using it, you should find out how this product differs from other coatings and what types are offered on the market, as well as look at reviews from real customers.

What is bio gel polish and what is it for?

Biogel is a type of gel-like coating for nails. The product is developed based on natural ingredients : teak resin, protein and calcium. In addition, the product does not contain aggressive chemicals, therefore it is absolutely harmless.

Biogel is used not only as a strengthening agent, but also as an independent decorative coating.

One of the varieties of this product is sculpting gel, used for building up and leveling the nail plate.

Its advantage is visual alignment of the nail . All microcracks and irregularities become invisible.

Who are biogels suitable for?

They are designed to improve the health of nails and give hands a neat appearance. Many people use biogels as a base for varnish, or as a fixing layer. They do an excellent job with these tasks. At the same time, without weighing down or thickening the nail plates.

  • Biogel is often used as a healing and strengthening agent. On the one hand, it prevents brittleness and separation of the nail plates. On the other hand, it gives them matte, gloss and a light shade, depending on the wishes of the girl.
  • Not everyone is lucky enough to be born with beautiful and even nails. A properly selected product will fill microcracks and level the surface. You can leave everything as is, or you can apply a plain varnish or a decorative design.
  • Matte biogels will perfectly disguise traces of injuries. Their dense texture will fill chips, glue split ends, and hide a bruise caused by hitting a hard surface. And nutrients will contribute to rapid recovery.
  • Not all girls and women want to see bright pictures on their nails. But almost everyone wants them to have a neat appearance with a healthy shine.
  • Nowadays, products based on natural resin are often used as nail extension or shaping agents. This coating is less durable than acrylic. But it maintains the flexibility of the nail plate, nourishes and moisturizes its surface. Suitable for people with allergic reactions.

Properly selected biogel helps solve a wide range of nail problems. From their treatment to modeling or finishing manicure.

What is the difference between biogel and gel polish? What's better?

Both biogel and gel polish are used to strengthen nails. Both products belong to gel-like coatings, but there are a number of differences between them:

  • After drying, the gel polish acquires a solid structure, and the biogel becomes elastic;
  • The duration of the procedure when working with gel polish is 15-25 minutes, with biogel 40-50;
  • unlike biogel, gel polish does not allow nail extension;
  • the average thickness of the biogel layer is 2 mm, and the gel polish is 1 mm;
  • When wearing gel polish, correction is necessary.

But the most significant difference between these products is the composition. Biogel contains more natural ingredients.

This characteristic affects not only the process of healing nails, but also the cost of the product (procedures using gel polish are cheaper).

It is better to choose biogel as a strengthening agent, and gel polish for decorative design.

However, many craftsmen effectively use both materials in their work.

Which biogel is better?

There are several types of biogel. They differ not only in color and texture, but also in purpose:

  • BioSculptureGel (sculptural) - after drying, the coating acquires an elastic structure and a natural natural shade: from greenish to pale beige. The product is used as a strengthening and leveling agent. Sculpting gel is also used for minor nail extensions (1-2 mm). The coating looks impressive in aquarium design and nail art with dried flowers.
  • Biogel RoyalSealer - this type of coating is used to fix the manicure in the final stages. It is applied before applying decorative elements. It has cool shades, which allows you to hide the natural yellowness of the nail.
  • Colored and s-biogel coatings, after drying, form a strong but flexible structure. Both products are self-contained and can be applied without base or setting products.

What you need for extensions in different ways

For beginners, it is advisable to choose a thick extension gel to avoid bumps. The technology is understandable, but beginners have difficulty choosing the material. You definitely need a UF or LED lamp; it is better to buy a hybrid right away, although its price is higher. You will need the following:

  • nail files for shaping and filing nails;
  • sanding blocks;
  • several brushes;
  • antiseptic and degreaser;
  • forms or tips (also glue for them and a tip cutter);
  • a brush or clean napkins to remove dust;
  • single-phase or three-phase gel;
  • color and finishing coating, decorative elements.

Beginners are interested in which gel to choose for nail extensions on the form. A thicker, viscous material will be suitable, which will be convenient for forming a smooth transition from the natural nail plate. Using tips, you can take any product, the main thing is to distribute it evenly.

What is needed to apply biogel?

As with a regular manicure, applying biogel requires specific equipment . Many manufacturers claim that a UV lamp is not needed to dry the product, but this is not true.

Almost all gel coatings require special lamps. In addition to this, you will need: biogel, a soft and hard nail file, a degreaser, an acid-free primer and a cuticle softener.

All instruments must be sterile. To achieve an impeccable result, you need high-quality biogel.

How to apply biogel correctly?

Before applying the biogel, it is necessary to soften the cuticle , then remove it or push it aside.

is given the desired shape using a hard file .

There is no need to file down the top layer of the nail; just degrease it and dry it.

If the procedure is carried out in a salon or with a specialist, you must ensure that the specialist does not wash it down, otherwise there will be no benefit from the biogel.

After all the preparatory steps have been completed, an acid-free primer (drying without a lamp for 2-5 minutes). This product is necessary for strong adhesion of the biogel to the nail. When the primer has dried, biogel is applied.

It must be dried in a UV lamp for 2-3 minutes. To secure, the nail plate is covered with a finishing layer of biogel and dried for 2 minutes. To prevent the layer from sticking after drying, the nails are degreased again.

Sequence of build-up

The stages of extension using a sculptor in a single-phase or three-phase system are the same. The only difference is the type of the main substance, that is, one gel is used to form the nail or 3 different products. So, step by step instructions:

  1. Preparation. Hands must be treated with an antiseptic, paying attention to the bed. Next, do the manicure in the usual way (pull back, remove the cuticle, give the plates a shape), buff the nails. Next you should use a degreaser, dehydrator, and primer.
  2. Tips/forms. Extensions can be done both on tips and on forms. The latter are tightly secured under the bed so that they do not move. If tips are used, they are first shortened with a tip cutter. In addition, they need to be shaped, sanded, and then glued to the plates.
  3. Layout of material. The first layer is the base: in a single-phase system it is immediately colored, in a three-phase system it is transparent. You need to distribute the product evenly, avoiding flowing under the cuticle. Next, carefully lay out modeling thick gel for nail extension, achieving the desired shape or length. It is better to make the first layer thin, otherwise lumps will form. Before each application, it is necessary to dry the substance with a lamp.
  4. The final stage. All that remains is to shape the nails and sand the surface of the artificial plates. Thick gels level themselves without requiring special filing. Dust must be removed with a brush and then degreased. The last layer after color is applied (with a three-phase system), sealing the ends, as well as the sides. It must be dried in a lamp.

After all these steps, the plate is coated with colored varnish. Next they make a design - it can be a painted flower, butterflies, abstract lines, rhinestones, stamping. Often the plates are left only with modeling material of a natural shade (pink, beige, nude, milky). In this case, it is recommended to simply apply the finish and lubricate the cuticles with oil, the nails will look well-groomed.

How to remove biogel?

To remove biogel you need a special biogel remover .

It is better to do the procedure in a salon; the master uses professional products with a low acetone content .

At home, you can remove biogel using any nail polish remover containing acetone.

For the procedure you will need: biogel remover, cotton pads, foil. The whole procedure will take about half an hour.

Cotton pads are soaked in biogel remover and applied to the nail, after which it must be wrapped as tightly as possible with foil and left for 20 minutes. After such a compress, the softened coating is removed with a clean swab.

Is it possible to apply varnish or gel polish on biogel?

Biogel can be used as a base : both gel polishes and regular nail polishes can be applied on top of it.

However, the latter will last no more than three days, and when they are removed, the biogel layer is damaged.

Therefore, it is better to use gel polishes or colored s-biogels. This manicure will last much longer.

When doing nail art using biogel, any decorative elements are used: stickers, acrylic drawings, beads, rhinestones, dried flowers.

Types of gel

There are several types of bio-gel:

  1. Transparent biogel (Bio Sculpture gel). It can be used as a base coat; it should be noted that the shine of such a base is not very bright, so it is customary to apply a base layer on top of it. The main advantage of this type of product is that it dries in 2 minutes, heals microcracks and helps strengthen the plate. Photo - Nail design on top of colorless biogel
  2. Sculpting Biogel is known for containing silk extracts that increase its elasticity and durability. It has an opaque, natural color that looks very natural and is primarily used to “sculpt” the free edge of the nail. It helps strengthen the nails, moisturize the plate, and helps long nails become not only strong, but also elastic and flexible; this type of varnish is widely used in aquarium design techniques.
  3. Royal Sealer biogel - this nail preparation is designed to add shine to the finished manicure; it can be either colored (for example, in the photo) or transparent, which is used to secure a classic French manicure. This unique product will help you whiten your nails at home; the natural color of the product is bluish, which almost completely neutralizes the yellow and gray shades of your nails.
  4. S-coating is a hard biogel that is used to create extensions. This composition is not used as an additional substance, does not need to be fixed, it is a completely independent composition. It strengthens nails not due to beneficial substances, but due to its strong base.
  5. UV biogel - this product is used and recommended mainly for strengthening plates in summer; sun rays also negatively affect nails; under direct light they become thinner and deteriorate. The procedure will take 40 seconds; this varnish is applied on top of the base coat, helping to lighten the nails and protect the cuticles from dryness and cracks.
  6. Colored biogel is used more often than transparent one; the latter is only appropriate in combination with any color, while colored one is a completely independent product. We recommend buying a set, then you will have a choice. Colored compounds need to be applied in two layers; they take longer to dry, but are more practical, have a better effect on the structure of the plate and do not crack. Photo – Colored biogel

Reviews of biogel

Real reviews from customers who decided to try biogel indicate the high decorative and practical effect of its use.

Maria : “I’ve been doing nail extensions for several years now, and recently I tried biogel. The clients are satisfied."

Ekaterina : “Before, I always did acrylic extensions. I recently tried biogel for a celebration – it’s very cool and looks natural.”

If you follow the rules of application, biogel will actually restore damaged nails . When doing the procedure with a specialist or in a salon, you need to make sure that the top layer of the nail plate is not filed away, otherwise the whole procedure will be in vain.

To maintain a lasting result, the coating should be protected from products containing acetone. Then your nails will remain beautiful and healthy for more than one week.
