Why do kamifubuki fall off?
There are several main mistakes that lead to detachments of this type of design. Let's look at each of them.
- Layering sequins on top of each other. If, as planned, the glitter should be layered, then each layer should be made on a separate base layer. Otherwise there will not be a good connection between them. In addition, when layered, the top glitter will not lie on the nail. In the photo above you can see this problem at the top left.
- Kamifubuki are poorly sealed with top. The glitter is too smooth and the top coat slides off, so you need to apply it in a couple of layers.
- The glitter is too close to the free edge. If the edges of the sequins hang over the free edge, you will not be able to cover them well, and the design will chip or peel off in this area.
- Sebum got on the glitter. To avoid this, use tweezers and do not pick up the glitter with your hands.
- Not all sparkles are perfectly even; it often happens that during cutting, the sparkles bend along the edge, especially kamifubuki with a large diameter. You need to look at them carefully, if you notice such a problem, then turn them over with the curved edges down, then they will not puff up. If you place it with the curved edges up, the top will not overlap the edges, which will also lead to partial detachment of the design.
- A couple more mistakes will not lead to peeling, but will greatly spoil the appearance of the manicure. There are two of these in the photo below. The first is the bubbles on the top. When you brush the topcoat over the glitter, the brush catches air on the edges and air bubbles remain on the coating. They need to be removed with a thin brush. Such bubbles not only look bad, but also burst during wear, which further worsens the appearance. The second mistake is on the glitter nail. This is not kamifubuki, most likely a gel with glitter, but this problem can also arise with loose glitter. Look how crookedly the coating lies in ridges. - The last mistake is also more visual than technical. In this case, the kamifubuki are glued to a transparent base without camouflage.
