Manicure design with sparkles on the tips

Undoubtedly, design does not lose its relevance all year round. It can look completely different depending on the option chosen. Moreover, now there are no restrictions.

Floral print best emphasizes the delicate, romantic image of a modern fashionista. It is mainly chosen in the spring-summer season. However, floral motifs look great in autumn and winter. These could be yellowed leaves, thin spruce branches, or even compositions. Together with glitter, the manicure looks especially bright and does not go unnoticed by others.

Manicure with a geometric pattern is a trend for 2022. It is chosen by confident fashionistas who prefer strict lines in everything. However, sparkles add brightness and chic to it. These are mainly gold and silver parts.

Bright two-tone jacket

The brighter the color combination, the more interesting the jacket, according to nail design stylists. An emphasis on brightness and a couple of rich shades turn the design into a more fashionable manicure. And by the way, both owners of short nails and pointed long nails can afford such a French nail design.

Why is manicure called French?

Soon, Jeff Pink went to Fashion Week in Paris, where he offered a new manicure to models, who had to change their outfits even more often than actresses. The models and couturiers really liked this nail design, it was a triumph for Pink.

Returning to the United States from Paris, right on the plane, Jeff decided to rename his brainchild “French manicure,” because France is a symbol of fashion and the cradle of fashion ideas.

Bright multi-colored jacket design

Manicure ideas allow you to take a fresh look at the classic French manicure when “French smiles” are decorated in different shades. Of course, such a noticeable and attractive jacket looks best with a transparent base or matte top coat. And, as a rule, such manicure ideas do not need additional decorations.

Types of French manicure

Depending on the design features, today there are several varieties of this style:

Classic white jacket

This option is considered the most restrained and modest, but this does not prevent it from remaining the most popular among many representatives of the fair sex. When creating it, the nails are covered with a colorless varnish, or a varnish of a pale pink or flesh-colored beige translucent shade, and the edge is decorated with a simple white color. This design looks impressive both in combination with everyday outfits (jeans, sundresses, trousers or a formal suit for the office), and is suitable for a formal appearance. Looks great on both long and short nails. Now it is important to introduce additional decor. One or two fingers are decorated with rhinestones, designs, stickers or paintings.

Color

Unlike a classic French manicure, a colored manicure can feature a variety of colors and shades, depending on the preferences and tastes of the owner. There are no strict rules in the design of the plate and edge; it is possible to use bright, restrained, acidic, and metallic tones. Red, pink, and black colors are often used for the smile line. The turquoise color scheme is at the peak of popularity.

Decorative jacket with design

This type of nail care can be called a real work of manicure art. For decorative purposes, various designs, monograms and prints can be applied to the plates. It is possible to use luxurious stucco molding, beads and even lace compositions. Popular various rubbings, crystal chips, velvet and rhinestones. At the same time, color, theme and technique can be completely different, each time impressing with its exclusivity and individuality.

Matte

In French manicure, a combination of gloss and matte finish is allowed, which looks very aesthetically pleasing and original. As a rule, the tip of the nail is coated with matte varnish, while the plate itself is decorated in the traditional glossy version. Also, in the last couple of years, a completely matte finish has become popular. It gives the manicure softness and velvety.

Lunar

A hot trend is the “reverse” French manicure, when the “smile” is located not at the tip of the nail, but at its base. In this case, it is recommended to paint the plate itself in dark, rich colors, most often black. “Crescent” can have any shade (contrasting light, silver, white colors are desirable). This manicure is also called lunar or Hollywood.

Smile shape design

The colorful tip of the nail, which is a real “highlight”, is usually called a “smile” or “crescent”. Traditionally, the “smile” runs parallel to the tip of the nail, however, for those who want to add more chic to the image, experts recommend other, non-standard forms of the “smile”. The line can be wavy, beveled, zigzag. Today, the “ombre” option is very popular, when there is no clear “smile”, but there is a very smooth, gradient transition from the color of the plate to the shade of the edge.

Acid French

Bright, provocative neon colors are back at the height of fashion. They can quickly transform nails of any shape and length. It is enough to paint it with neon varnish in green, lime or yellow-orange to be on trend. But, if you want to make a French jacket, and a very bright one at that, then apply a thin layer of neon color on a white backing. In contrast to brightness, you can create a calmer idea that involves using a nude, gray or transparent base.

Rainbow French

Another type of fashionable neon manicure allows you to create a bright colorful rainbow on one nail or on all of them at once. Note that the beautiful effect lies in the harmonious combination of all 7 colors. A catchy and at the same time fashionable French design, it is simply created for summer looks and special occasions.

Red French

The rich red color of the crescent-shaped nail tips is a godsend for those who lack brightness. Strawberry tones, fuchsia, red-golden-orange combinations are in fashion - they will be an excellent solution for a stylish nail design. Masters offer this jacket with a neutral and pink base, “shower” it with rhinestones and recommend options using the “different hands” technique. And also with a print imitating the color of a leopard.

Technology for creating a classic French manicure with shellac: photos and videos

We will not dwell on performing the most hygienic manicure; the technology here is standard. The only thing that is worth repeating once again is that you need to pay attention to the cuticle: it should be cut off as much as possible. The free edge of the nail can have any shape, but almond-shaped, oval or softened square will look preferable. The length also varies depending on your choice, but remember that the classics still look preferable on medium-long or short nails, which, by the way, are especially relevant this season.

Now let’s proceed to a direct examination of the procedure for performing a French manicure with shellac, with a photo description.

First, you should thoroughly degrease the nail plates. Pay special attention to the area near the cuticle and around the side ridges. If you neglect this procedure, the varnish will quickly come away from the nail plate, and along with it, the service life of your manicure will be reduced. There is no need to file the nail surface - shellac has excellent adhesive properties and does not require additional fastening. It is enough to use a primer that will ensure maximum adhesion of the nail to the shellac.

We also carefully apply the primer to areas near the cuticle and side ridges, as well as near the tip of the nail. Nails are ready to be coated.

Important

All layers must be applied as thinly as possible, especially this rule applies to the smile line, otherwise your manicure will look bulky. The topcoat may be slightly thicker in order to hide the border of the smile line transition.

The coating itself occurs in several stages:

  1. At the first stage, a transparent shellac base is applied in one layer. Then the nails are sent to a UF lamp.
  2. In the second stage, color is applied. Many people neglect these stages, believing that the base is enough. But this is a big mistake. As the nail grows, the area of the overgrown nail will be exposed, and the manicure will look sloppy. It is enough to apply the color in one layer. If the tone is not dense enough, you should apply it again. Each layer is dried in turn in a lamp.
  3. The third stage is the most important and most difficult - drawing a smile. Forget about stencils. In the case of shellac, and indeed with all types of polymerizing varnishes, stencils are contraindicated. The thing is that shellac does not harden without exposure to ultraviolet radiation. As a result, shellac or gel polish may penetrate into the formed cavities of the stickers, or it will drain when tearing off the stencil. Drying with stencils will also not work; they will simply remain under the frozen layer of shellac. We draw a smile in two stages. First, apply thin strokes along the free edge of the nail. If necessary, we correct errors. The resulting result is fixed in the lamp. At the second stage, we draw the brush again along the previously outlined contour, trying to completely saturate the smile with color. Dry it again in the lamp. Over time, as you gain skills, you will learn to perform this procedure in one stroke. For beginners, we recommend using special sliders that imitate a smile. A few more words should be given to the boundary of the smile. It is important that the drawn smile follows the natural contours of the free edge. At the same time, of course, we adjust its shape.
    Interesting

There are many options to make it easier to perform a French manicure with shellac at home. The most accessible and simplest is the use of sliders. They can be either applicative, imitating a smile, or with full filling of the nail plate.

  4. The fourth stage is applying the finishing coat. Apply the top alternately in two layers. This will even out the edge of the smile. Dry each layer in a lamp. Don’t forget to seal the ends with topcoat. If you do not apply the finishing coat to the end parts of the free edge of the nail, then over time the shellac will come away from the nail.

Art French

Designs not only with bright abstract designs, textures and patterns are popular here. In this direction, the style, color and decor are chosen according to your mood. And the uniqueness of the design will be ensured by the picturesque pattern on the tip of the nail. For example, in the first photo there is a beautiful summer manicure with a wave, micro-shine and swallows.

How to draw a straight smile line?

It’s great if you know how to draw the coveted thin French line exactly, but what if not? Don't worry - there are ways to make this task easier!

Stencils for French

The simplest and most ready-made option is self-adhesive stencils for creating a smile line. You need to carefully place the stencil strip on the polymerized camouflage base, leaving a few millimeters of free edge. Paint it with the desired color and polymerize it. Then remove the stencil and proceed with further technology.

Special brushes for French manicure

There are also special brushes for French manicure with a cut out core - you need to apply a coating to them and simply apply it to the nails, imprinting it.

Stationery eraser

You will be surprised, but an ordinary rubber band is a very popular way to create an even smile line. Pull it over the nail, leaving a free edge, which you can paint with the chosen color.

Bright gradient jacket

A nice idea for those who like how gel polish on their nails grows out unnoticed. A spectacular gradient, a transition of colors, from the middle of the nail can be created with foil, glitter, and nail art varnishes. This will add sparkle and shine to your everyday looks. The main thing is to choose an impeccable color duo that attracts attention and fashionable decor. For example, piercing is currently in trend.

Classic French manicure at home: necessary materials

There is a huge variety of French manicure, but first you should focus on the classics - French manicure in a natural palette - a white tip and a nude shade of the nail bed.

  • To make a French shellac manicure at home you will need:
  • UF lamp with a power of at least 36 W:
  • degreaser;
  • primer;
  • lint-free wipes;
  • a set of shellacs - a base and a top for protecting the nail plates and final fixing the manicure, respectively, and two colored shellacs, white and one of the nude options (pale single or light beige).

As you can see, the set of materials is no different from those used in salons. The technology for performing a French manicure is the same. The price of the starter kit is quite significant, but in the future all your expenses will pay off, and you will always have a fresh and interesting manicure at any time.

The only thing you can save on is to use a regular acetone-based nail polish remover instead of a degreaser or use regular medical alcohol. However, they are not always suitable for some brands of shellac, dulling their color. Instead of lint-free napkins, disposable paper tissues folded in several layers will also work.
