Vinyl lux coating: photo palette, correct application

CND vinylux polish will allow you to forget about manicure correction for a week. In addition, this product has the unique feature of becoming stronger day by day. This technology makes it possible to wear a perfect manicure without chips for exactly seven days.

Vinylux varnish is especially good because you don’t need to use a base. The entire application process comes down to two layers of color coating and fixing with a special topcoat. Today, the vinyllux palette is very extensive, which means you can choose any color.

Important: drying in a UV lamp is not required, since vinyllux varnish dries very quickly naturally.

As you already understand, a perfect manicure is impossible without CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat - a 15 ml top coat and colored nail polish (more than sixty shades on sale).

Features of decorative varnishes of the Vinylux series

Vinylux was produced by the famous American company CND, which is a world leader in the nail industry. The popular Shellak series gel polishes are one of the most successful inventions of CND.

But the company decided not to stop there and developed Vinylux. It contains no harmful substances such as formaldehyde resins, toluene, phthalates and camphor. The product is labeled big3free.

The Vinylux base consists of two main components: colored varnish and top (fixer CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat). Thanks to the top-grade fixative, the coating does not become vulnerable over time, but, on the contrary, hardens.

This manicure is famous for its week-long durability; it is also called a week-long coating . This is just a godsend for fashionistas who prefer to frequently change their look, and an excellent alternative to gel polishes.

After applying Vinylux, nails do not need to be dried under the rays of an ultraviolet lamp. Its difference from conventional decorative varnishes is the ProLight formula - the coating hardens under the influence of natural light.

A video will tell you about the wonderful properties of Vinylux varnishes.

Weekly varnish - how to apply Vinylux correctly?

If you are not a fan of gel polishes, and regular polish does not last long on your nails, then you should try a new product from the American company CND, VINYLUX weekly polish.

How to apply Vinylux correctly

This varnish is significantly different in consistency from ordinary ones - when new, it is unusually liquid, when it begins to dry out in the bottle, it acquires an uneven texture, but this problem is solved by long and thoroughly shaking the bottle.

Healthy! If the Vinylux varnish has completely thickened, place it in a warm place, for example, on a radiator, for a few minutes. This trick does not work for ordinary varnish, but for Vinylux it is very relevant.

The Vinylux system is a two-step system, that is, when purchasing colored varnish, you must definitely buy the Vinylux top, without it the coating will not last long and will not have a glossy shine.

There is no base coat for Vinylux varnishes; the manufacturer does not recommend using it at all. Many manicurists, out of habit, apply the base and only then the Vinylux varnish itself, this is a fundamental mistake . This varnish, as mentioned above, differs in composition and consistency from ordinary ones and involves direct application to the nail plate.

Important! Vinylux varnish does not need to be dried in a UV lamp.

Stages of applying Vinylux varnish:

  1. Get a manicure (classic, European or hardware).
  2. Prepare the nail plate for applying varnish - remove the top fat layer with a soft buff. Remember that Vinylux is applied without a top coat, so all the unevenness and roughness of the nails will be even more noticeable after coating with varnish. Lightly sand the surface of the nail.
  3. Degrease your nails.
  4. Apply the first thin coat of varnish and let it dry for a couple of minutes.
  5. The first layer of varnish may not lie very evenly; light shades may leave stains and streaks; this is normal; cover your nails with another layer of varnish. The creators of Vinylux recommend applying it in two layers. The third layer will be redundant.
  6. Use a top coat; it contains special photoinitiator particles that react to daylight. Due to these particles, the Vinylux coating acquires special properties; under the influence of light, the coating becomes stronger and stronger every day. This quality allows Vinylux varnish to compete in durability with gel varnishes. When applying the top coat, do not forget to paint the ends of the nail, this will reduce the likelihood of chipping.

Pros and cons of Vinylux varnish

The advantage is durability; if Vinylux is applied correctly, it will last on your nails for at least 7 days.

  2. It is necessary to adapt to the correct application of varnish, since in different bottles they may differ in consistency, and are equipped with a brush that is inconvenient at first glance. After several uses these nuances will be invisible.
  3. When choosing bright and dark colors, there is a danger of painting the natural nail as well .

To prevent staining of the natural plate, it is recommended to first apply a thin layer of a light Vinylux shade to the nails as a base layer, and after it has completely dried, a thin layer of a bright or dark color.

Benefits of varnish

  • There are no problems with removing varnish. It can be easily removed using regular acetone. But it is better to use a special liquid from the same company. It will not only moisturize your nails, but also eliminate the need to inhale the pungent odor.
  • The cost of manicure products in this series is low, which makes them the best option for use. In addition, consumption is quite slow and one set of “color + top” is enough for 35-40 uses.

The vinyllux color palette is very diverse. The creators of this series are constantly updating the range, adding new “trend” colors. Thanks to the wide selection of colors, you can create any design, without restrictions.

There is a choice of both glossy and enamel shades, and there are also five translucent tones. Most shades have a high density, but manufacturers recommend applying the varnish in two layers.

How long does it take to dry?

Although the procedure for applying such a coating does not provide a base, it is applied in three stages. The first layer is thin, it acts as a base coat, and it dries quite quickly. It must be applied carefully and in a very thin layer. The next layer is the main one, it applies easily and covers all the shortcomings of the first application. The third stage is fixation with a top coat.

In total, taking into account all stages of application, vinyllux dries in 10 minutes.

Disadvantages of such coverage

Despite the fact that vinyllux nail polish has undeniable advantages, there are also disadvantages:

  • Not cheap. Ideally, you need to purchase two bottles: color and top fixer. This set will cost much more than standard nail polish. Because of this, counterfeits are common!
  • Due to the fact that a base coat is not provided, the surface of the nail plate is painted. Although manufacturers claim that the color pigment does not penetrate the nail structure.
  • The brush has a specific design, making it difficult to apply. But this moment is purely individual.

Another undeniable disadvantage of this coating is that when applied to an uneven plate, all nail defects are clearly visible. This product can only be used by those with beautiful and strong nails.

Minuses

The CND brand has developed this varnish taking into account all, even the smallest aspects. However, it also has its drawbacks. In particular, it is completely inapplicable without a special vinyl lux topcoat. It is responsible for the safety, stability and durability of the manicure. Therefore, its relatively low price increases significantly due to the purchase of coverage.

Vinylux nail polish (cnd vinylux), although characterized by a fairly diverse palette of colors, is expanding rather slowly. A similar trend was observed with shellac when it first appeared on the market. In the future, the palette will probably expand.

In addition, some users complain that since Vinylux SND is a varnish applied without a base, after its removal there is sometimes staining of the nail plate, which is quite difficult to remove. In turn, the manufacturer guarantees that if the varnish is used correctly, this phenomenon will not occur. Perhaps this has to do with the initial state of the nails, when thin and loose nails are more inclined to absorb the coloring pigment.

Not all users can successfully apply shellac or vinyllux. This is usually due to the unusual brush that the brand equips all its products with. It is rarer than usual, in addition, the coating itself is thicker. In order to apply vinyllux flawlessly, you need to practice a little.

Which coating lasts longer on nails and for how long?

Many of my clients, following me, decided to give each coating a “test drive”. And this is the conclusion we all came to together.

Shellac

The manufacturer states that Shellac lasts a long time - at least 2-3 weeks under any conditions.

What happens in practice?

  • Under conditions of severe use (cleaning, washing dishes, washing a child, cleaning an apartment, etc.), Shellac lasted for most 2 weeks without chipping; it did not last 3 weeks in this mode for anyone.
  • The color faded a little, this was especially noticeable in those who preferred bright shades and were exposed to the sun a lot.
  • The gloss remained like new for 2 weeks.

In general, these indicators satisfied everyone. However, at least half of my clients, including myself, began to peel off their nails after several applications.

Vinylux

VINYLUX polish is also called weekly polish. Obviously because it must last at least 7 days.

What did the “test” show?

  • Not everyone has a perfectly smooth coating without a base - if there are even minor defects on the nails, they will be visible.
  • The first chip appeared on the 5th day, despite the fact that I also used a top coat.
  • After removal, I regretfully discovered that the nails were discolored.

Many of my clients agreed with me, but noted that a pedicure with VINYLUX still lasts longer than 4-5 days. Everyone also liked that for the first 2 days you can do whatever you want and the polish will stay in place. Together we came to the conclusion that a base for it was definitely needed.

Biogel

We still haven’t come to clear conclusions with biogel. Because it seemed to many that their nails become much heavier and have unequal thickness, especially when they begin to grow.

  • For some, it lasted no more than 5 days, and then began to crack.
  • Others came in 2 weeks for adjustments, which must be done 2 times a month, and the biogel was in place safe and sound.
  • We all unanimously doubted that it helps strengthen nails.

As for ordinary varnish, which continues to be very popular, many, after experimenting with VINYLUX, shellac and biogel, returned to it. For some, plain varnish lasted longer than shellac or VINYLUX.

However, to do this, some conditions must be met:

  1. The varnish must be of good quality.
  2. You definitely need to apply a base underneath it.
  3. On top is a top coat.
  4. Dry completely (this will take, of course, not 10 minutes like VINYLUX, but more).

If you do everything right, a manicure with regular polish can last for a whole week with moderate use.
