Klinser and its contents
The beautiful name conceals just a degreaser that removes residual grease, moisture, and dirt from the working surface.
The same liquid can be used to remove the sticky layer of topcoat at the end of the manicure. The word Cleanser means the name of a group of products, and not a specific manufacturer or company. This liquid contains water, alcohol, fragrances, and oils. The substance is required in any manicure procedures. Can be used for:
- Hand treatment before procedures;
- Disinfection of tools, tables, equipment;
- Cleaning lamps for drying;
- removing the fat layer from the nail for better adhesion to the varnish;
- removes the sticky layer from the top coat and creates shine on the varnish.
Types of glitter
Despite all the variety of these products, there are only two main types - dry and liquid. Dry glitter is more diverse in classification, and is usually divided into:
Large. The particles are quite large in size, and the shape can be regular or irregular. This material is intended for creating patterns in the form of a mosaic, but its use is only appropriate on long nails, because it has a “shortening” effect.
Glitter sand. It has a high density, thanks to which you can give the nail plates additional volume. It is applied to the nails in a fairly thick layer, which makes it seem as if they are strewn with shining sand.
Glitter powder or shimmer. People call this material “sprinkling” or “rubbing”. Shimmers can be used at your own discretion, although there are only two options: to create makeup or manicure, and they are applied to a sticky layer of varnish (base).
Glimmer. This is something between glitter and shimmer, and it’s easy to guess that the term was formed by merging two words. At its core, this is a large shimmer.
Liquid glitter is a regular transparent varnish with glitter that can contain different amounts of shiny particles. Here a lot depends on the manufacturer, but in any case: the effect of applying one layer of such varnish will be insignificant. And there were cases when girls had to apply up to 10 layers of liquid glitter to get a dense shiny layer. It remains to add that manufacturers of cosmetic products are constantly experimenting and offering new options. For example, now you can buy “sprinkles” with a mirror effect or “glitters” in the shape of hearts, stars, sticks, rounds and squares, but you don’t even have to talk about colors, the color range is so wide.
Dehydrator
A common analogue of a clinser is a dehydrator. This is practically the same tool. But they have different scales of impact. The cleanser is soft, it removes fat and only the top layer of moisture on the fingers. And the dehydrator penetrates deep into the nail plate, squeezing out moisture. On the one hand, this provides better adhesion of the nail to the base, and on the other, it dries it out greatly.
The main ingredient in the composition is butyl acetate. It has a good pH level and is gentle on human skin. Water reserves, as well as the balance of the body, are restored very quickly after degreasing with a dehydrator.
How to choose a nail degreaser
Types of degreasers by composition and purpose:
- Klinser . Universal liquid. Removes moisture from the surface without penetrating into the deep layers of the plate. Contains a lot of alcohol, so it disinfects well.
- Dehydrator . The liquid removes dust and dirt from nails. It differs from clinser in that it penetrates into the deep layers of the nail plate, drying it well from moisture. After using a dehydrator, the decorative coating will last much longer.
- Primer . Liquid for degreasing, but its main purpose is to lift the scales of the nail plate and loosen the top layer.
Primers are divided into two types:
- Acidic . Contains methacrylic acid, which lifts keratin scales and removes impurities. Acid primer is used before acrylic nail extensions. In case of contact with the skin, the product may cause redness, irritation, burning, and allergic reactions.
- Acid-free . Used before applying gel polish or gel nail extensions. An acid-free primer is not as aggressive as an acid primer, but it degreases well.
Which degreaser is best to use?
For “wet” nails, a dehydrator is suitable. Humidity can only be determined experimentally. Watch your manicure, if it peels off in even parts after a week, it means there is a lot of moisture. It is worth using materials that will remove water from the surface as much as possible.
For dry nails, a clinser is suitable. You cannot use the previous product, as it will dry out even more and can cause harm. After covering with a dehydrator, the nail will have a white tint.
Both options are excellent at removing the sticky layer. At the final stage of manicure there are no restrictions on the use of products.

Terms of use
No special skills required. You need a lint-free cloth or sponge and a degreaser. We soak the swab with liquid and apply it to our fingers. But following the following rules will extend the life of your manicure:
- Select gel polish and cleanser from the same company, they will have a similar composition and will interact well;
- Don't buy the cheapest degreasers, because they can have a detrimental effect on the nail plates. Expensive products have a good composition;
- Use only lint-free sponges or wipes with degreasers. Cotton materials are prohibited because they leave threads that are difficult to remove later;
- Degrease the nail immediately before applying the polish, as its effect lasts 30 minutes. If you cover all the nails at once, then while the varnish on the first ones dries, you will have to degrease the rest again;
- Remove the sticky layer from shellac, as this layer takes away all the shine. The dispersion layer also causes allergies.
It is very important to use degreasers only before and after varnish, as this will only cause harm at other stages of the procedure. It is the sticky layer that provides adhesion between the materials.
Rules for using the clinser
Klinser is quite easy to use and does not require any special skills. It is enough just to blot a napkin with the solution and treat your nails. However, there are a number of rules that, if followed, will ensure a long “life” for your manicure.

- Try to use clinsers of the same brands as gel polishes. Gel manicure products from the same company perfectly complement each other and “do not conflict” with each other. Thus, the gel coating under the influence of a “foreign” cleaner may fade or change color.
- If it is not possible to purchase manicure products from one company, then at least take care of a high-quality cleaner. You shouldn't skimp on it. So, an expensive cleaner will never ruin your manicure, while cheap brands can affect its final effect. This is especially true for inexpensive brands of gel polish.
- Always use lint-free wipes in pair with the cleanser. Never use regular cotton pads. This is especially true when preparing the nail plate for applying the base layer. There is a risk that the lint from the cotton wool will remain on your nails and your manicure will be ruined.
- Apply the clinser to the nail plate immediately before you start applying gel polish. You should not treat all your nails at once, because after 30 minutes the effect of the cleaner wears off.
- Under no circumstances should you do a manicure without degreasers. Neglecting this rule will result in the gel coating coming off at the first contact with water.
- Be sure to remove the sticky layer at the finishing stage. If it is not removed, the gel coating will lose its attractive shine, and this is in the best case. At worst, you risk developing an allergy, because the dispersion contained in gel polishes can cause an allergic reaction.
Important
Degreasers for gel manicure are used only at the initial stage, before applying the base, and after applying the topcoat. Do not degrease the gel coating between other stages of manicure. This way you will remove the dispersion formed after drying in the lamp, which precisely ensures reliable adhesion between all layers of gel polish. In addition, a number of cleansers contain oils, which will be an additional obstacle to the adhesion of the gel layers.
Replacement for the clinser
Perhaps, after reading the material, the idea arose to make this remedy by mixing alcohol, water, and oil. The proportions of the product are not indicated on the packaging, so the ideal composition is unlikely to be repeated. But if it happens that the degreaser runs out, then here are ways to replace it:
- Water + alcohol, proportion 70:30;
- Nail polish remover without acetone;
- Boric alcohol;
- High quality vodka. Moonshine is best, since there are definitely no additional impurities.
Thus, a clinser is a basic tool for preparing for manicure and fixing polish. This is an element that essentially no one sees, but without it the process itself would be complicated, and the result would not be so beautiful and long-lasting.
Liquid glitter
Liquid nail glitter is very easy to use. It is an ordinary transparent varnish, to which shiny particles are mixed. The main advantage of this type of glitter is that you don’t have to use a base or protective coating with it; you just need to paint your nails with glitter polish. The color range of such varnishes is very diverse, so every fashionista will find something to suit her taste.
If you want your manicure to last longer, you can try gel polish with glitter. The only difference from regular varnish is the need for drying in a UV lamp. This manicure looks luxurious and elegant.
Apply glitter correctly
How to apply glitter on your nails so that it lasts as long as possible? There is a special algorithm for this:
- First you need to properly prepare your nails. First, we trim or move the cuticle to the edge, after softening it with special oil. Secondly, we give the nails the desired shape using a nail file. And thirdly, we degrease our nails with nail polish remover, preferably without acetone. This is necessary so that the manicure lasts better.
- Apply the base coat. The base for glitter can be either a special varnish or the most common one, and of any color. It is only important to cover your nails well with it, without missing a single area. Otherwise, the glitter will be distributed unevenly over the surface of the nail.
- Without waiting for the bottom base layer to dry, dip the nail into a jar of glitter. Carefully pull it out and brush off the excess with a soft brush. To use glitter more economically, you need to lay a sheet of white paper on your work surface. Once the work is completed, any crumbled glitter can be poured back into the jar.
- We apply a protective coating to the finished decor so that the manicure lasts longer and the glitter does not fall off.
